Sometimes the kids like to have sleep-overs in each other's room.  Tonight they slept in Jakey's room!

We had family night at Tempanaki.  The kids loved how they cooked the food in front of us with fire!

Kallee had her Christmas performance for TRIO (dancing, singing & performing studio).  She sang the line, "Gone away is the blue bird, here to stay is the new bird," as her solo from the song Winter Wonderland.  She did an excellent job singing and dancing.

Kallee and Jakob performed in the Newcastle Christmas program.  They did a fantastic job singing many holiday songs!

Polar Express

We rode on the Polar Express to the North Pole and got to meet the real Santa!  We stopped in Park City and had pizza before the ride.  Waiting for the train was very cold but we got hot chocolate and a cookie to warm us up on the train.  The kids were so excited to get a silver bell from Santa's sleigh.  Jakey told Santa he wanted a train for Christmas and Kallee told Santa she wanted a Minnie Mouse Castle!  This family adventure was AWESOME!

Happy Birthday to my little 5 year old MONKIES!

For Jakob's and Kallee's birthday party, they had a "Bug Hunt," played "Pin the Bug to the Net,", and "Catch the Butterflies."  Each girl partied with Lady Bug wings and each boy had a black cape.  Olivia Johnstun, Amelia Valentine, Cash Lewis, Trinity Sauk, and Kael Parker helped the kids celebrate their day!

Happy Halloween!  Jakey loved being BATMAN and he had to have BATORINGS for his belt.  Kallee is the best LADY BUG GIRL.  She loved being a pretty super hero that saves the day!

Ken coached Jakey's soccer team.  Jakey loved telling everyone his Dad was the coach.  Jakey is a good little player and loved scoring goals!

Kallee loves having Tea Partys.  We invited our neighbor Lydia over, served pink milk and little sandwhiches for her party!

Jakey calls Brianna's creamy poppy seed salad dressing, "Wedding Dressing." When I asked why he called it that he said because it is white!

On July 25, I was walking through the kitchen, slipped on some water, fell forward and broke my humorous.  Ken was at work and the kids and I were here by ourselves.  After calling a few neighbors and no one answered, I sent the kids next door to the Gilberts for help. Sheila came to my rescue.  She gather neighbors to come over and help me get my arm stabilized and get me off the floor into the car.  Ken took me to the emergency room.  After 5 hours, they sent me home in a sling and my arm strapped to my body.  I was in a lot of pain until surgery.

August 3, I had surgery.  The doctor put a plate and screws in the spiral fracture to hold it all together.  After surgery and a bunch of pain medication, I was sent home in another sling.  I was out of it for almost a month.  Mom and Dad helped out with the kids and stayed with us for over 2 weeks.  The doctor said I would take at least 3 months for a full recovery.

Jakey and Kallee have been superheros through this whole thing.  Ken has been a great help and is getting good about doing my hair and Kallee's hair!  Ashlynn has also been a great helping with the kids and cleaning the house.  We had a bunch of different neighbors bring meals.  I am very grateful for all the help.

I am now about 2 months into this and I am slowing getting movement back into my arm.  It still hurts but is better everyday.  I start physical therapy tomorrow and I am excited to heal.

Kallee and I were cleaning up toys outside.  I had to tip the firetruck on its side to get some stuff out and Kallee said, "Mom there is a spider web under the firetruck!  Mom, LITERALLY, there is a spider web under the firetruck!"  She makes me laugh!

Kallee told Jakey and I that she loves dance COMPLETELY! Jakey and I giggled for 5 minutes.

Kallee has a special imaginary friend named "Darrator (narrator)." She will often blame misdeeds on this friend or one of her stuffed animals!

Tonight was Jakey's first Outdoor Soccer game and Ken is the coach.  Jakey did a great job and took the ball down the field by himself a few times and scored at least one goal!

Kallee took her pom-poms to the game all by herself.  She cheered for Jakey the whole game!  I love my monkeys!

Ken took the training wheels off Jakey's bike tonight.  We thought it might take a couple of days to get him to ride on his own, but no...he got it the first night!  We were so proud.

Draper Police came to the kid's preschool today.  They were very proud to tell their teacher about Uncle Jerry who is a policeman!

Jakey got to go to the first Utes game of the season with his Dad!  He was very excited and talked about it for a long time!

Kallee says to me, "Mom, do you know why shirts have four holes? Because it's a shirt! And pants have three holes!"

Ken & Grammy took Jakob and Kallee to meet their new preschool teacher Miss Debi and to see their new school!

Driving down the road today, Kallee says, "I wish our car was a rainbow car with green!"

We went on our annual camping trip with Justin Hughes and Josh & Jill Boyt to Moon Lake.  Kids had a wonderful time playing with Jill, going on hikes and getting dirty.

Kallee was asking me about a tea party she wants to have and telling me who she wants to invites. She said Jakey was one person she a wanted to invite. Jake said, "Kallee I think I'm going to be sick that day!"

Kallee earned a Rapunzel dress after memorizing 30 site words.  She didn't take it off for 3 days.

Jakey and Kallee graduated from Alta High Mini Hawks today.  I was very proud of them.  Throughout the school year they learned a few songs and sang them at the graduation.  This is a video of the song Tiny Tim.

During April, we read Guess How Much I Love You? a bunch of times.  We told each other how much we loved one another in different ways after reading the book.  For example, "I love you this much (holding our arms out wide)!"  "I love you all the way to Grammy's and Papa's and back!"  "I love you all the way to Disneyland, Grammy's and Papa's and back!"  "I love you all the way to Trier, Germany and back!"  Today Kallee looked at me and said, "Mom I love you all the way to my heart!"

Ken told Kallee to give him some of her magical kisses and she asked if he wanted some magical hugs too!

"Daddy I have zero, that is Spanish for nothing!" Kallee told her Dad.

"Superman puts his pants on first then his underwear," says Jakey.

On our last day at Disneyland, we got to have a 3D adventure, meet Lighting McQueen & Mater, stop for an ice cream snack, and most importantly we chased down Jessy so Kallee could give her a hug!

We got to meet a bunch of characters like Chip & Dale, Captain Hook, The Fairy Godmother, Mr. Incredible, and Scully.

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and met some magical characters!

Ride Makerz...30-minutes later Jakey (and Dad) built his new Green Monster Truck with a remote control.

Meeting Woody and the Green Army Man was neat, but standing next to a life size Darth Vader made of Legos is awesome!

We got to meet most of the princesses!  It seemed, Jakey was as excited as Kallee was!
