Happy Independence Day!  Justin, Ariel, Alora, & Mike have been staying with us the last couple of days.  The kids have had so much fun together and have become instant friends.  Today we all took the train (TRAX) to the Gateway and spoiled the kids at Build-a-Bear.

Sunday, we were at Larry's and Fay's for dinner outside. Jakey went in the house and went pooh in the potty all by himself! Yeah!

Monday...no such luck!

Tuesday, he successfully went pooh in the potty again!

Today...not successful.

Jakey likes to help me or Ken mow the lawn. He follows us with his toy lawn mower. It makes the neighbors laugh!

Jakey still poohs in his pants daily. Whenever he does it, he assures me that he will try the next time to go in the potty. I feel like a failure!

Kallee loves peanut butter. Her favorite snack is peanut butter on a spoon. I think Grammy taught her that!

Jakey hates peanut butter. He loves jam sandwiches!

Jakey and Kallee are best friends. I love to ask them who their best friend is and they always reply with their sibling's name!

When one of the kids wakes up and the other is not awake they always ask me if they can go wake the other one up!

Tonight was Jakey's and Kallee's first time attending "Smart Sports." This class teaches them the basics of throwing, catching, kicking, etc. The best part of this class is that Mom and Dad attend too!

Jakey can hit the ball off the t-ball stand left-handed or right-handed. He can also throw left or right-handed. It will be interesting to see which hand he ends up using.

Kallee likes to look pretty while playing sports. The funny thing is she doesn't catch balls, she dives on every ball that comes her way.

I found Jakey in the garage today trying to sound out the word "husky." I have such a smart boy.

Earlier this week, while in a store, Jakey said to me, "Mom that sign says EXIT!"

Camping in Moon Lake was fun. As we were sleeping the first night, Kallee was dreaming and yelling that Jakey was dropping her chips, which woke up Jakey. Needless to say, Jakey and Kallee ended up sleeping with Ken and I.

We went camping to Moon Lake with Aunt Sunny, Justin, Josh and Jill. When we arrived, Kallee looked at the mountains in front of us and told her Dad, "I love the mountains, can I jump on them?"

Ken and I were sitting in the kitchen talking and the kids were outside playing. Kallee comes in followed by Jakey. Kallee said something about a mouse, Ken and I look at each other and then look at Jakey holding a dead mouse in his hand as proud as he can be! We jumped!

Today we went to Granite Park for a pony ride. When we arrived Kallee exclaimed, "Mom there is Papa and Grammy, there in the mountains, that is where they live!" (Granite Park is close to the mountains.)

Jon, Syd, and Julia have stayed with us the last two weeks while Steve and Shawnya were in Asia. We enjoyed them!

Jon learned to vacuum, fold clothes, eat different foods, and play with 3-year olds! Jon was a great help! Jakey and Kallee loved having him here because he would play with them. Jon is a great cousin (older brother)!

When Syd wasn't at school, track, or church activities she hung out here with me and the kids. Julia, Syd and I went to the "Reliant K" and "Paramore" concert! Rock on!

Julia slept, showered and sometimes would eat here. She is a busy girl!

This morning Jakey and Kallee went through the whole house calling out "Jon, Syd, Julia, where are you?" I think they liked Jon, Syd, and Julia staying with us.

Today was Jakey's and Kallee's Dance Recital. Before the recital began, the dance teachers said Jakey knew the dance the best however he would not dance in front of people. Kallee did dance but she was looking in the mirror the entire time. It was a great time!

Aunt Sunny visited with us this weekend. Some of her favorite quotes from Jakey, "I went downstairs...and into the playroom and went poop...then I went to the bathroom and put the poop in the toilet."

"Look Mom!...It's Jesus Christ!!!" (In El Rancho Grande there is a painting of a Mexican women in shawls that Jakey thinks is Jesus.)

"We don't say shit Aunt Sunny...we say silly goose instead!"

Jakey has not been using the toilet for number 2. I don't know if he is afraid or what. Anyway, we have an underwear graveyard in the garage garbage can. However, yesterday Jakey didn't have any accidents. I am so proud of him!

Today we were coming home from a walk and he and Kallee ran ahead of me. When I caught up to them, Jakey had his pants down around his ankles peeing on the front lawn! I wonder what the neighbors think?

Jakey is finally understanding how to use the potty. After many tears, Jakey has had a couple of days with no accidents. He is still having trouble with #2 on the toilet, but he has made progress. He has earned a helicopter and some guys for his helicopter.

Recently he has started to earn time to play video games with successful trips to the potty. Jakey is also getting his room updated! Today he got a car toddler bed and thinks it is the coolest thing ever!
